Street Dance

This is a skill also to be able to see how you can improve the dance moves and you should always be using it.

As you move on and become a better and better dancer and look to move on towards professional level this will become very important.

If you want to do it seriously, then when you are old enough it can be a wise idea to enrol in a 2 or 3 year course at a dance college.

This won't be in street dance but in other disciplines such as ballet, jazz, tap and musical theatre. However these will help better prepare you for your life as a dancer.

If your aim is to be a backing dancer and do jobs in the professional world this is advised.

If your aim is to perform in a street dance crew and you have no interest in other dance styles then it probably isn't for you. You can still be a professional dancer without going to dance college if you're dedicated and really talented.

The truth is not even dance college can guarantee you a successful career in dancing. But strong talent will always give you a chance, which is why even a slight edge like having a dance school training can make all the difference.

If you are looking to become a professional dancer you should be looking into getting experience of performing in dance shows or showcases.

Many dance shows have these opportunities for you. If not then you will have to look for dance auditions that you can attend, keep an eye out for local events or even opportunities your dance teacher may have.

Even if your dance teacher has no such opportunities it can be worth asking them where you can get help in your local area for performance opportunities as they may have some contacts or specialized knowledge.

Whatever level you are at or wherever you wish to go with your street dancing, remember to have fun as God intended dancing to be!
